Our wines
Two souls, one shared passion for wine
Every Wegerhof wine is born from a deep connection to the land, knowledge passed down through six generations, and a constant pursuit of excellence. Our production is divided into two distinctive lines:
Classic, which reflect the legacy of the Josef Weger Estate, and Auswahl, a reserve line defined by elegance and complexity.
The Classics
From the names to the terroirs, the wines of the Classic Line reflect the centuries-old history of the Josef Weger estate — a harmonious blend of past tradition and present innovation.
The grapes come from vineyards located in various areas of the South Tyrolean wine-growing region, reaching up to 600 meters above sea level. The wine names are classic too, ranging from Ancient Greek references to German, recalling both the origins of viticulture and the Josef Weger estate.
Both in naming and in winemaking, the aim is to express the authenticity and typical character of the region. The wines are vinified partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks.
Auswahl
Driven by great passion and dedication, Johannes Weger — now the sixth generation — created a new wine line in 2004 under the current name "Auswahl".
The Auswahl wines, meaning “selection”, represent the crus of our production.
The grapes come from single vineyards with very low yields and careful selection.
The winemaking process is based on decades of harvest experience, aiming to capture the fullest expression of the terroir where these wines are born.
They are aged in small French oak barrels and, over time, reveal their full potential.
